Semikron Danfoss issues an important product change notice regarding updates to material numbers and product markings.
Release time:
2025-09-27
The launch of the new ERP system will drive standardized management, and customers are required to provide feedback and confirmation by June 4, 2025.
Dear Customer, Semikron Danfoss recently issued a Product Change Notice (PCN No.: PN24-114 Rev.1). Due to the company’s upcoming implementation of a brand-new ERP system on June 2, 2025, several product markings and data formats will undergo unified adjustments. This change affects multiple classic product series, including rectifier bridges, discrete diodes and thyristors, MiniSKiiP, SEMIPACK, SEMITRANS, SEMiX, SKiM, and more.
Overview of Key Changes
1. Material Number and Name Adjustment
Originally, purely numeric material codes starting with "0" will be changed to new alphanumeric identifiers (e.g., 07891066 → 23081518).
Product variants (such as different thermal coating versions) will no longer share a material number. Instead, each variant will be assigned a unique, new material number, composed of the original number combined with a variant code (e.g., 27897004V M07 → 27897004VM07).
Material names are updated synchronously, with "-variant code" added after the original name (e.g., SEMIX453GB12E4lp-M07).
2. Simplified Date Code Format
The date code has been simplified from the original format of "year + week number + batch number" (5 digits, e.g., YYWWL) to "year + week number" (4-digit numbers, YYWW), with batch information now indicated solely through the batch number.
3. The batch number is uniformly set to 10 digits.
The new batch number will be fixed at 10 characters and will no longer include production year or factory location information (e.g., 2211SK00064205 → 1234567890). However, this change does not apply to certain products from the Brazil factory.
4. Product identification labels standardized
The signage information will uniformly include: company name (updated to Semikron Danfoss), batch number, product name, manufacturing site code, date code, product status (e.g., non-serial product), and DMX code. Meanwhile, the product line name, circuit diagrams, UL mark, component numbers, and other such details will be removed.
5. DMX Code Structure Update
Add a "Production Site Identifier" field (located at the 11th position) to the existing 53-bit DMX code, while fine-tuning the remaining structure—leaving the 26-bit DMX code unchanged.
